The Frator Heru Institute

The Frator Heru Institute was established as an educational, scientific, charitable and social-change entity to address the myriad and multi-layered crises facing the Afro-American community by generating effective and strategic programs, projects and initiatives that promote self-development, stable families, communities and societies.

The Frator Heru Institute achieves excellence by serving the community through four distinct areas of focus:

The FHI Rites-of-Passage

The FHI Men's Health Consortium

The FHI Public Forum Initiative

The FHI Community Education and Outreach Program

By developing specialized programs within these four areas, we are able to address a myriad of social, communal and personal issues that negatively affect our society. By understanding how fundamental human needs and values fit within these categories and by using an outcome-based model of program development we are able to effectively create positive, long-term changes in individuals, families and the community-at-large.
